The government is trying to uphold its power by launching the White July campaign but the people of this country want to chase this government out by the end of this month,”said former Minister Rohana Dissanayake.
Dissanayake said the government is engaged in futile attempt to make the people forget what they did over the past four years through the White July Programme.
Addressing a press conference at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) headquarters, Dissanayake alleged that UNP had been involved in fanning the flames of racism during the month of July in 1983.
“The Black July disturbances erupted during the UNP regime,” he said.
Dissanayake said that an environment will be created for the Government Medical Officers to discharge their duty without any intimidation.
“Leaders in the government are in contention to grab the leadership.We will announce our party’s Presidential hopeful in August. We will definitely win the forthcoming Presidential election,” he said
