The fight against racism and religious extremism will be carried forward circumventing all objections, Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said.

Addressing a conference held in Colombo recently, he said that he would not be deterred by bombs and bullets.

“We have to unite and move forward. The Buddha said the human race is the only race. In 1948, Sri Lanka was only behind Japan, but today, our country is even behind Bangladesh and the Maldives.

There was no budget deficit during the time of the late Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike.

He made Sinhala the official language and in 1994, his daughter Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga made Tamil also an official language,” the Minister said.
