Insaf’s employee remanded

An employee who worked at the copper factory owned by Insaf Ahmad, one of the Shangri-La suicide bombers, was remanded till July 8 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.

The suspect was identified as Karupiah Rajendran Abdul. The Terrorism Investigate Division yesterday informed court that they found two cheques in possession of the suspect.

Attorney-at-law Usuf Nazaar appearing on behalf of the suspect informed court that his client had not received any cheques in his name.

The Magistrate ordered the TID to file a report on the next hearing date as to whether or not there were cheques drawn in the name of the suspect. 


Wellampitiya copper factory employee re-remanded  (15:55)

An employee attached to the Wellampitiya copper factory arrested in connection with the Easter Sunday explosion was re-remanded till July 8 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.
