National Poson Festival ends

The Anuradhapura National Poson festival concluded with the alms giving for 100 bhikkhus at the Anuradhapura Boo Maluwa Tempale yesterday.

Anuradhapura Government Agent R.M. Wanninayaka told Daily News that around 600,000 devotees visited Anuradhapura and Mihintale.

The President and the Prime Minister provided maximum state patronage to make the event a success. The Prime Minister visited Anuradhapura and Mihintale to inaugurate the Lake House Poson Aloka Pooja,Wanninayaka said.

SP Thilina Hewapathirana said crimes were not reported during Poson in Anuradhapura. A few traffic accidents were reported and a very calm religious atmosphere prevailed in Anuradhapura and Mihintale.
