Poson Udanaya train journey from South reaches North

Uthura Dakuna Budun Dakin Poson Udanaya - the train journey organised by the Prime Minister's Office to create reconciliation among the people in North and South in parallel to the Poson Poya Day started yesterday from the Beliatte Railway Station.

It reached the Kalutara South Station at 11.15 am and the stationmaster along with his staff received the Maha Sangha who came chanting Seth Pirith.

Sri Weerawardhanarama Viharadhipathi Most Ven. Pathakada Vimalagnana Thera told Daily News that he was coming from Beliatta and travelling up to the KKS station. The Thera distributed items which were collected in the train journey among the poor people in North and talked to them.

Over 30 members of the Maha Sangha and over 600 passengers reached Kankasanthurai on the train.

The journey was sponsored by the Bujjomuwa Railway Station Bosath Charitable Foundation.
