The Young Star Sports Club Akkaraipattu beat the Akkaraipattu Jolly Boys Sports Club by seven wickets in the final and bagged the ‘Kodeeswaran Robin Champion Trophy’ of the 6-over knockout softball cricket tournament at the Alayadivembu Tharmasanghari playgrounds recently.
Eight teams in the Alayadivembu DS Division partook in the tournament.
The Akkaraipattu Jolly Boys Sports Club batted first and scored 57 runs. In reply, the Young Star Sports Club, Akkaraipattu, scored 58 for three in 5.4 overs.
S. Dinujan of Akkaraipattu Jolly Boys SC was adjudged Man of the Series and T. Sujinthan of Akkaraipattu young Star SC was picked Man of the final.
Digamadulla District parliamentarian Kavinthiran Kodeeswaran was the chief guest at the awards ceremony.
