Police Committee probing complaints against Bathiudeen, ex-Governors

First complaint by Canteen Owners Association

The first complaint to be lodged with the special Police Committee against former Minister Rishard Bathiudeen and former Governors Azath Salley and M.L.A.M. Hizbullah was submitted by the Canteen Owners Association yesterday, Police sources disclosed.

The Committee was appointed by Acting IGP C.D. Wickremaratne to receive complaints against Bathiudeen, Salley and Hizbulla along with the relevant evidence. Senior Superintendent of Police P.K.D. Priyantha heads the Committee.

Director of the Police Legal Division, Superintendent Jaliya Senaratne, and, Organized Crime Division Director Superintendent Priyantha Liyanage are also in the three-member Committee.

The Canteen Owners Association complaint was lodged yesterday evening by Association President Asela Sampath. Complaints can be handed over to the Police Headquarters in Colombo from June 4 to June 12 between 8.00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
