SriLankan service to Karachi resumes today

SriLankan Airlines will resume services to Pakistan’s commercial capital Karachi from today.

The Sri Lanka’s National Carrier will operate five weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with flights arriving in Karachi at 15:10 hours and departing Karachi at 16:10 hours.

Some of the international flights into Pakistan were suspended following the closure of Pakistani airspace by the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan on February 27. Some restrictions continue with regard to Pakistani airspace and the SriLankan is awaiting the lifting of all restrictions to re-commence flights to Lahore, which the airline also operated to.

A member of the Oneworld Global Airline Partnership, the SriLankan Airlines operates a route network of 111 cities in 48 countries from Colombo and connects to over 1,000 cities in 160 countries. SriLankan has won a string of recent international awards including ‘World’s Leading Airline to the Indian Ocean’ at the World Travel Awards and ‘Asia’s Leading Airline to the Indian Ocean’ at the World Travel Awards Asia Australasia.
