CTSU urges to cancel term test

The Ceylon Teachers Service Union (CTSU) has requested the Education Ministry Secretary to cancel term tests scheduled to be held in July so as to cover delayed studies due to poor student turnout on security reasons.

CTSU General Secretary Mahinda Jayasinghe said that the CTSU suggested the Education Ministry Secretary to utilise the term test period for the covering sessions.

Jayasinghe while addressing media today in Colombo said that academic activities of schools are delayed by 19 days so far from the commencement of schools on May 6.

“Normally term test takes around 16 days and therefore this period can be utilised for covering the delayed studies” he added.
