Public Transport incurs loss

Transport authorities said that the number of public transport users after the April 21 attack has been greatly reduced.

General Manager of Sri Lankan Railway Dilantha Fernando said that they suffered a loss in the past few weeks and the income has been reduced by nearly 50% to 8 million.

Meanwhile, the Deputy General Manager of the Sri Lanka Transport Board, Roshan Chandrasiri said that they suffer a daily loss of 25million and 30million.

However, Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association Gemunu Wijeratne said that the daily income has been reduced of 75million and 80million.
