CP hospitals lack ambulance drivers

People in the Central Province (CP) complain that state hospitals in their areas lack ambulance drivers.

They said many state hospitals in the province have ambulances, but drivers round the clock.

Several patients died in the recent past since ambulances were unavailable on time to transport them to hospitals, the residents said.

Patients said doctors in rural hospitals direct patients to another hospital more often taking into account their situation, but these patients have to use their own transport to get there. Even patients with heart ailments have to find transport or die without treatment, they said.
