An owner of the house with an underground bunker in Navanthurei in Jaffna has told Jaffna Police that its construction was funded by a Muslim Organisation and it instructed him during the process.
Police said the suspect earlier had told the STF when he was arrested that the house had the bunker when he bought it and it had been built during the LTTE era.
The suspect was handed over to the Jaffna Police for further investigation by the STF and during the interrogation, the suspect had claimed otherwise.
The suspect this time has said the members of the Muslim organisation told him to construct prison cells in the bunker and it was constructed six months ago.
Investigations are continuing to verify the authenticity of his statements, police said.
