Adjournment Motion debate on current situation today and tomorrow

An Adjournment Motion debate will be held in Parliament today (07) and tomorrow (08) to discuss the current situation in the country following the Easter Sunday terror attack which took place on Sunday April 21.

The decision to go for an Adjournment Motion was taken when party leaders met yesterday. Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has pointed out to all party leaders the importance of having a meaningful debate in Parliament on the said matter, and has requested them to inform all MPs to participate in the debate in a responsible manner without creating unnecessary arguments or distractions.
