CIPM SL receives APFHRM greenlight to establish Asia Pacific Centre

CIPM Sri Lanka – a leader in human resource management, sector received a strong reassurance of continuing support and cooperation from the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management (APFHRM) at its biennial regional board meeting held last month in Nadi, Republic of Fiji to establish the Asia Pacific Centre for HR Excellence in Sri Lanka.

This centre will be managed by CIPM under the guidance of a Board consisting of the APFHRM member countries and will mainly contribute in facilitating Applied Research on HR and allied subjects, and innovation. It will also be developed as a HR data center once operational and fully fledged.

APFHRM also pledged its unstinted support to CIPM Sri Lanka in its endeavor to organize the World HR Congress in Sri Lanka in July 2020. CIPM Sri Lanka President and APFHRM Vice President/Board Member Dhammika Fernando together with Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri-Chair of the CIPM External Affairs Committee represented CIPM Sri Lanka at the meeting.

“We are happy to note that the constituent members of the APFHRM at the regional meeting in Fiji extended their whole hearted support to CIPM in our endeavors to establish the AP Center for HR Excellence and organize the prestigious World HR Congress 2020 in Sri Lanka” said Dhammika Fernando-President, CIPM Sri Lanka.

“The technical subcommittee of WC 2020 chaired by Prof. Ajantha is putting together a programme which will provide a unique experience to the participating delegates of the World HR Congress” he added.

The prestigious World HR Congress - the largest human resource management conference in the world is an initiative of the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA) headquartered in Virginia, USA of which the APFHRM is a constituent body representing the people management associations in the Asia Pacific region.

The regional meeting of the APFHRM the first since the awarding of the Charter Status to CIPM was also an opportunity to celebrate the prospects of promoting the HR Charter Status to upgrade the competencies and recognition of people professionals in Sri Lanka

CIPM is affiliated to the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management (APFHRM) and to the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA).
