Drone fired at in Jawatte

Police had fired at a drone hovering over the skies in the Jawatte area in Colombo on Saturday night.

Narahenpita Police officers had rushed to the location and fired at the drone, but it had flown away towards Bambalapitiya, Police sources said.

The drone was last seen near the Bambalapitiya beach. The use of drones and unmanned aircraft within Sri Lankan airspace has been banned until further notice due to the prevailing security situation following Easter Sunday bomb attacks.
