The swords that were seized in Beruwela on Saturday.
Beruwala Police arrested two men and 13 women and seized four swords, two knives, eight mobile phones, one pair of binoculars, several CDs, and Rs. 18 lakhs in cash, during a massive search operation on Saturday.
The search operation was jointly carried out by Army, Air Force and Police officers under the direction of Kalutara SP U.N. Ariyaratne, Kalutara ASP Kapila Premadasa and Beruwala Police OIC IP Janaka Vithana.
The suspects were detained at the Beruwala Police Station for interrogation and were due to be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate yesterday.
