Maliban Biscuits and Nawaloka Hospitals, both maintaining their unbeaten status, advanced to the final, in the 17th David Pieris Group of Companies powered, ‘DPGC’ Challenge Trophy, MCA ‘F’ division 25-over League tournament 2019.
In the Semifinals conducted on April 20, Maliban Biscuits trounced Brandix Essentials by 105 runs whilst Nawaloka Hospitals scored a hard fought 04 wickets win over Sri Lanka Telecom.
Match winners for Maliban were, Mohamed Hilmi (71 not out in 53 balls,inclusive of 03 sixes and 06 fours) and Tharindu Siriwardena (65 in 47 balls,inclusive of 04 sixes and 04 fours), the pair putting on 99 runs for the 3 rd wicket in 68 balls.
A useful double by Buddhika Prasad (39 runs and 3 for 24 in 05 overs) and a good bowling performance by Thiwanka Kakulawela ( 5-34-3) paved the way for Nawaloka Hospitals.
