Saudi citizens told to leave Sri Lanka

The Saudi Arabian Embassy on Tuesday (30) advised their citizens to leave the country in the aftermath the Easter Sunday bomb attacks.

A tweet by the Saudi Embassy in Colombo said: “Due to the current security situation in the Republic of Sri Lanka, the embassy advises citizens in Sri Lanka to leave”.

According to reports by Anadolu Agency, a statement was issued by the Saudi Embassy in Colombo, after the US ambassador to Sri Lanka said the militants might be at large and planning more attacks in the days to come.A comment was made by the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Alaina Teplitz said “We do believe that the terrorist threat is ongoing and there may be active plotters. Active members of the attack group that carried out the terror attacks on Easter Sunday may still be at large”.
