Court orders to conduct DNA test-Time:16:05
Colombo Fort magistrate Ranga Dissanayake ordered the Government Analyst Department to carry out a DNA test using the blood sample of Habiba Azam, the daughter of the suspect Mohamed Azam Mohammed Mubarak alias 'Abdullah' (suicide bomber at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo).
Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday ordered the Government Analyst to conduct a DNA test regarding the suicide bomber who carried an attack at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo on Easter Sunday (21).
Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake made this order pursuant to a request made by CID. The CID informed court that they are expecting to call for a DNA report pertaining to body parts of the suicide bomber using his daughter’s blood samples.
The CID said the motive behind the DNA report is to ascertain whether the seized body parts at Kingsbury Hotel was of the alleged suicide bomber Mohamad Azzam Mohamad Mubarak of Colombo 2.
