Explosion in garbage dump near Pugoda Magistrate’s Court

An explosion was reported in a garbage dump behind the Pugoda Magistrate’s Court last morning, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.

However, no casualties or damages were reported following the explosion.

Meanwhile, three suspects were arrested last afternoon from the Modara area based on a tip-off received by the Colombo Crimes Division. The raid was carried out by the CCD and STF officers and 21 hand grenades and six swords were recovered during a subsequent search of a van. The CCD is carrying out further investigations.

A minor explosion has been reported in a bare-land behind the Pugoda courts. No casualties have been reported said the police media spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara.
