Extra buses for Auruddu vacationers to return

The Road Passenger Transport Authority of the Western Province (RPTAWP) has launched extra bus services for those who are reporting to work after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year vacation.

RPTAWP Chairman Deshabandu Tusitha Kularatne said the special bus services will operate from April 9 to 21. He said RPTAWP staff cannot avail their leave on these days.

The special bus services will operate from Pettah, Bastian Road, Kaduwela, Aweriwatte, Katunayake, Kadawatha, and Panadura.

Over 780 buses have been deployed for long distant journeys and another 6,200 buses have been deployed in the Western Province.

The Chairman said the public can inform about errant drivers and conductors on 0112-860860.

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) authorities said the SLTB buses will operate as usual from April 16.

SLTB Chairman Upali Marasinghe said that a special bus service will operate from April 20.
