Ten hurt as van hurtles down precipice

Ten people were injured when the van they were travelling in ran off the road and fell down a precipice, in Watawala.

The ill-fated vehicle was carrying a group from Hatton who were returning home after attending a relative’s funeral in Galle. Police said four people who were at Watawala Hospital have been transferred to the Nawalapitiya Hospital due to the seriousness of their conditions. There were seven men and three women among the injured, police said.
