Coastal railway line cleared for trains

The coastal railway line, which was obstructed due to the derailment of the Galu Kumari, has been cleared.

According to the Sri Lanka Railway Department, a train plying from Belliatte to the Fort Railway Station had derailed near the Galle Railway Station and as a result, railway services up to Hikkaduwa had been discontinued.

Furthermore, the Kelani Valley railway line has also been closed due to a train derailment that occurred yesterday morning, between Narahenpita and Kirulapone. The train had been plying from Avissawella to Colombo Fort.
