Alleged arms smuggler Wishwa arrested

The Colombo Crime Division has succeeded in arresting Viduranga alias Wishwa, an underworld figure who was allegedly involved in arms smuggling with a group of ex-LTTE cadres. The suspect is a resident of the Wellampitiya area and is said to be an accomplice of underworld gangster Kaduwela Samayan who was killed in the Kalutara prison bus attack.

It has been revealed that an underworld gangster Gotha Asanga who has been remanded in connection with a number of crimes is now leading the Samayan’s gang from prison.

The Colombo Crimes Division has arrested 12 supporters of Gotha Asanga and a number of former LTTE cadres over the arms smuggling racket. These suspects have been detained and are being questioned by the CCD.
