Surveying at camp irks Sivajilingam

A team of surveyors who arrived at Mandativu naval camp to conduct a survey had to leave the camp premises without completing their duty yesterday.

This was caused due to the protest conducted by a group of people led by former Northern Provincial councillor M. K.Sivajilingam.

Sivajilingam said that this group of surveyors has been tasked to conduct a survey of the land on which the naval camp was established to expand the camp.

He said that they are against the expansion of this camp as it was established on lands owned by the people in the area.Sivajilingam said that these lands should be returned to their original owners soon.
