Chamath pilots Sri Palee to victory

An elegant knock of 64 runs by Chamath Chamupathi Gamaariya guided Sri Palee College, Horana to beat C. W. W. Kannangara Vidyalaya, Matugama by 30 runs in their inter school annual third Big Match worked off at Matugama. Now the tally stands at Sri Palee one win and two drawn.

Batting first Sri Palee Collapased for a paltry 98 runs with a hostile bowling spell of 6 for 39 by Lasindu Shehan and in reply C. W. W. Kannangara Vidyalaya scored 138 runs with Kavindu Dewmina making the top score of 31 runs and Dinuka Anupamal bowled best for Sri Palee with 3 for 27.

In their second essay Sri Palee scored 185 runs with Chamupathi scoring 64 runs and Nishad Chamuditha captured 5 for 72. Set to make 146 runs for an outright victory C. W. W. Kannangara Vidyalaya were all out for 115 runs with Dinuka Anupamal claiming 5 for 43 Dinuka carried away the man of the match award for his match bag of 8 for 70 while Chamupathi was awarded the Best Batsman’s Trophy.
