Navy assists in dousing fire

A navy firefighting team assisted to douse an accidental fire that had erupted in a shop at 3rd Cross Street on Wednesday.

The navy had dispatched a firefighting team from the SLNS Rangalla in the Western Naval Area, after responding to information received from Fort Police about a heavy fire.

The team consisted of 11 naval personnel, along with a fire engine and a water bowser. Firefighters from the Colombo Municipal Council and Ports Authority joined in the effort as well.
