‘Parents, teachers should set example to children’

Sabaragamuwa Governor Dhamma Dissanayake said that teachers and parents should set an example to children. He was speaking at a prefect induction ceremony at the Ratnapura St. Luke’s College, recently.

“Protecting schools is not merely to protect physical resources, but to protect education, culture, and discipline,” the governor said.

“When parents and teachers are well-mannered, children will also follow their footsteps,” he added.

Governor Dissanayake said that attention should paid more to create disciplined future generations rather than improving physical resources.

“Educational development is not limited to obtaining all-A passes. The real sense of it is to create upstanding citizens,” he added.
