Loco drivers threaten two day strike

Several railway trade unions have threatened to engage in a two-day strike from April 9 midnight, citing salary anomalies and several other issues.

A Locomotive Drivers’ Union member told the Daily News that they will strike demanding to rectify issues relating to salary anomalies.

Meanwhile, a Railway Department senior official told the Daily News that the Department is unaware of this trade union action as the union collective had not informed of this officially until now.He said that other services including station masters, guards and controllers may not back this so- called trade union action of locomotive drivers as it is not fair.
