Man with foreign firearm, heroin arrested in Moratuwa

Colombo Division Vice- Squad officers yesterday arrested a man for possession of a firearm and two kilograms and 549 grams of heroin.

The vice officers arrested him in Thuduwamulla, Katubedda area in the Moratumulla Police Division at about 10.15 in a raid carried out by them under the supervision of DIG Kolamaba Disawage.

Police said, the firearm seized was a foreign made repeater gun. The suspect is a resident of Lakspathiya, called Arambawelage Don Lakshitha Prasanna, aged 41.

Vice Squad handed him over to the Moratumulla Police Station.

“He will be produced before Moratuwa Magistrate Courts tomorrow (today),”the Police said.
