In celebrating Sinhala and Tamil New Year, Colombo City Centre will be hosting their very own Kolmbatta Avurudu, which will commemorate this unique Sri Lankan festival by serving up exciting activities throughout the month with a refreshingly modern twist.
The Colombo City Centre Mall will be transformed into a traditional Sri Lankan gama ‘village’, with special appearances from the village arachchi ‘chief’, Kids’ Avurudu village, and much more. In one corner of the Mall Atrium, a sweet treats market will be set up to offer the scrumptious delicacies that everyone looks forward to each Avurudu. Kids can also learn to play the rabana with our digital raban player assistant, and partake in thrilling Kana Mutti games which will be projected on a digital video wall.

Further, Colombo City Centre will be hosting the seminal Avurudhu Kumaraya and Kumariya competition, where customers will be invited to strut their stuff in their best ethnic wear on a high-fashion runway.
