PSUNU nurses to ‘fall sick’ today

All nurses attached to the Public Service United Nurses Union (PSUNU) will go on a sick leave campaign today (26) and tomorrow, PSNU President Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thera said.

According to Ven. Ananda Thera, the islandwide sick leave campaign will commence today at 7 am. “The Union has already presented their demands. Seventeen demands have been presented.

There are eight key demands of which only two or three need funds. The other demands include privileges and no funds are required to grant them to the nurses,” the Ven. Thera said.

“The demands were presented four years ago and various discussions had been held a few times, but no solution was given,” the Ven. Thera said.
