Speedy winger Tharindu Maduranga's brilliant performance enabled St. Joseph’s College Maradana to crush hapless Trinity College Kandy by 37 points (5 tries, 3 conversions, 2 penalties) to 19 (3 tries, 2 conversions) in their Singer ‘A’ Division Inter-Schools league rugby tournament match played at Havelock Park yesterday.

Joes led 27-5 at half time.

From the start of the match St. Joseph’s through their speedy three quarters led by Maduranga came up with a spectacular display in the entire match to outplay their opponents who played this game without any proper game plan, especially their forwards who were completely demolished by the Joes forwards who also ran circles around the entire Trinity three quarters.

Maduranga with his superb foot work and speed was a source of inspiration to his entire team mates with his spectacular runs down the ground. He capped a fine performance in the match by scoring two spectacular tries which completely shocked the Trinity outfit.

Trinity's three tries were scored by centre Tevin Karunanayake (one), winger Geeshapaya Kulathunga (one) and Harshana Samarasinghe (one). The two conversions were put over by captain Reshan Bandaranayake and Miranga Subasinghe.
