Joes look for bonus point win over Trinity

The confrontation between St.Joseph College Maradana and Trinity College Kandy in the Singer 'A' Division inter-Schools league rugby first round match at Havelock Park today, should turn out to be a interesting game. The match will kick off at 4.00 pm.

St.Joseph’s who beat Science College Mount Lavinia (20-14), St.Anthony’s College Kandy (38-5) and Zahira College Maradana by 47-5 last week at Havelock Park under the leadership of Tharindu De Alwis will go out as firm favourites.

The forte of the Joes has been their speedy three quarter line who are certain to give a torrid time to the Trinity outfit.

Meanwhile Trinity College Kandy who beat Science College (22-11) lost to formidible Isipathana (15-27) at Trinity grounds up in Pallekelle and won (35-10) against arch rivals St.Anthony's College Kandy last week, will have to be at their very best if they are to at least make tough resistance against this formidable Joes side.

Going by the two teams' starting line ups and the performance so far in the ongoing ‘Singer’ Inter-School league rugby tournament, St.Joseph’s will completely go out for a bonus point win against Rashen Bandaranayake’s Trinity outfit today.
