“Jalte hain jiske liye” - Golden Oldies from the Hindi Silver screen

Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre will present a musical evening “Jalte hain jiske liye” - Golden oldies from the Hindi Silver screen on March 28 at 6.30pm at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre auditorium, Colombo 07.

An evening of songs from the golden years of Hindi film music (the 50’s and the 60’s) will be presented by Sudhakar Rao, a former civil servant and a music lover from Bengaluruaccompanied by the internationally acclaimed Sri Lankan pianist Soundarie David Rodrigo, renowned Indian Guitarist Pradeep Rodrigo and the outstanding Sri Lankan musician and sound engineer Neranjan de Silva. Sudhakar Rao will present best known numbers of the legendary singers Talat Mehmood and Hemant Kumar, blending with them the musical magic of Soundarie David Rodrigo, Pradeep Rodrigo and Neranjan de Silva. This will be yet another musical collaboration showcasing close cultural ties between our two countries India and Sri Lanka. Entry to the programme is Free.
