Artiste Jananath Warakagoda who was arrested in connection with an accident was ordered to be released on cash bail of Rs.10,000 with two sureties of Rs.100,000 each by Mahara Chief Magistrate Heshantha De Mel yesterday.
Warakagoda who was arrested in connection with a fatal accident in the Kirillawala Divisional Secretariat was ordered to be remanded till March 18. A 68-year-old woman who was on a pedestrian crossing was killed in the accident
The Court also suspended the vehicle driving licence of Warakagoda until the conclusion of the court case.
Rs.50,000 in compensation in addition to Rs.100,000 was handed over on behalf of the accused to the aggrieved party in open court yesterday. The case was fixed for April 29
