Wanted criminal found shot dead

The main suspect of a murder which took place in Makola in December 2018, was found shot dead, by the Nawagamuwa Police in a rubber estate in Kaduwela yesterday.

The deceased was identified as 37-year-old Chamila Prasad Karunaratne, a temporary resident in Gonawala in Kelaniya.

The Police wanted him over the murder of Dhanushka Sanjeewa alias Manna, a businessman in Makola-North on December 12, 2018.

Thirty-five-year-old Manna was shot dead at the Galwala Junction in the Sapugaskanda Police Division.

The Police found several live T-56 ammunition and empty bullet cases at the scene yesterday.

Nawagamuwa Police are investigating.
