CIPM Supervisory Development Programme to Enhance Leadership

CIPM Sri Lanka – the Nation’s leader in human resource management recently conducted its 3-day Supervisory Development Programme which has been designed to provide a sound working knowledge of supervisory management and enhance leadership skills.

The Programme is a signature workshop of CIPM’s Corporate Training Division and was conducted at CIPM Head Office “HR House” in Colombo 5. The Programme was facilitated through Senaka Muhandiramge and Sarath Jayasinghe who are experienced HR, employee engagement and business-related resource personnel.

Over 25 supervisory level staff representing leading companies in the corporate and public sectors, and NGOs participated in the 1st CIPM 03-day Supervisory Development Programme.

“Supervisory level staff plays a significant role in the effective management of an organization. Proper leadership and motivational skills at this level have far-reaching effects on overall efficiency and effectiveness. A well trained supervisory level in an organization will be the starting point for the empowerment of the frontline in order to be a responsive company” said Dhammika Fernando – President, CIPM Sri Lanka.

The CIPM Supervisory Development Programme aims to enhance and strengthen the capabilities of frontline management and ensure that they gain the skills, knowledge, and competencies to effectively lead, engage and develop their teams, and face challenges of the business on a day to day basis. The program focuses on two critical areas for the enhancement of overall capabilities in the sphere of Supervisory, Management, and Leadership, with an emphasis on motivation and decision making.

Some of the modules in the CIPM Supervisory Development Programme are discussions and lectures on essential responsibilities and supervisory roles, planning and organizing work, personalities & developing a positive attitude, leadership skills, decision making, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, employee motivation and strategic goal setting.

At the end of the workshop, all participants who duly completed the Programme were awarded CIPM certificates.
