Royal Captain

It is with great pride and pleasure, I write this message for the 140th "Battle of the Blues" as the captain of the 1st XI cricket team of Royal College, Colombo. I'm personally immersed in happiness in being awarded the honor of leading our beloved school at this 140th Royal-Thomian cricket encounter. According to our understanding, the Royal-Thomian match is the second oldest cricket encounter. My teammates and I have received a valuable opportunity to represent our alma mater on this remarkable occasion. We will conduct fair play with great sportsmanship throughout this encounter and promise to give our fullest effort to fulfill the Royalists' unrelenting intention of winning.

Behind every fearless player there is a fearless coach who refused to let them be anything but the best they can be. I, along with my team, are extremely fortunate to be guided by the best of those individuals: our coach, Mr. Jehan Mubarak. We wish to mention our wholehearted gratitude to you.

I would like to appreciate the effort of the former advisory committee members and coaches who supported me to become who I am today. I wish to extend my gratitude to all the beloved parents of my team members for their support. I bow my head with great respect and love to my beloved parents for being my shadow and for their utmost support, motivation and guidance at all times. Thank you for always being with me and being the reason behind my success. I wish to thank everyone who supported me and my teammates throughout this season. We eagerly wish our friends from St. Thomas' College good luck - we are looking forward to a great game of cricket. Finally I would like to request all the Royalists to gather at SSC to support our team for a glorious victory.
