Students Preparing Grand Event

March is an exciting time for students of leading schools in the country who hold their traditional Cricket matches in their quest to vie for supremacy. The oldest among the annual Cricket encounters is the ‘Battle of the Blues’ played by Royal College,Colombo and S.Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia said to be the second oldest cricket encounter in the world among schools. The 140th Battle of the Blues for the D. S. Senanayake Memorial Shield will be played for three days beginning at the Sinhalese Sports Club grounds today.
