Pallepola to become a green city

Arrangements are made by the Pallepola Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) to develop the town as a green city and clean city, PS Chairman Jagath Dissanayaka said. This is under the green city and clean city concept, introduced by the Central Province Governor Maithri Gunarathna.

Pallepola town in Matale was a major commercial centre during the British rule. It is the main town in the Pallepola Pradeshiya Sabha area.

This area is rich in natural resources. Therefore, the green city concept can be launched easily, Dissanayake said.
