Petform (Pvt) Limited, a packaging solutions provider, says its packaging will be 100 percent green in the near future.
According to Petform Chairman and Managing Director P. Mathytharan, when it comes to green, sustainable packaging, consumer attitudes have changed considerably in recent years due to increased awareness of environmental issues.
“The change is not just good news for the environment but have many good financial reasons for companies to put money into the research and development of environmentally-friendly product packaging,” he added. Petform recently won the Sri Lanka Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 National Silver Award in large category and Sri Lanka Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 Provincial Silver Award in the other category at the Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, organised by the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka at the BMICH.
According to Mathytharan, his company is currently investing heavily in research and development with a view to going green 100 percent at the earliest.
Mathytharan said his company strives to do their part in preserving the environment through sustainable packaging products that are not only cost-effective but consistently eco-friendly. He also said eco-friendly packaging can actually yield savings in the long-term for both consumers and producers. Petform recently unveiled several environmentally-friendly packaging products including paper cups and bags made with recycled waste. Petform, been in the field for 15 years, also became the first company in Sri Lanka to export its packaging solutions to UK and has a growing export market with the largest base being India.
The company has four production plants and has expansion plans with the main focus being eco-friendly packaging solutions.
Petform supplies to medium and large-scale consumer goods companies in Sri Lanka, including some of the best known brand names.
