A scincilating chanceless knock of 122 runs by the opener, wicket keeper and the Captain of Moratu Vidyalaya and the Sri Lanka Under 19 player. Nishan Madushka guided his alma mater to defeat Gurukula Vidyalaya Kelaniya by eight wickets in their school first eleven cricket encounter worked off at Moratuwa. Incidently this is their final game prior to their Big match with Panadura Sumangalians in the on going cricket season. Nishan had fourteen hits to the ropes and two over and occupied the crease for 245 minutes and faced 182 balls. He had a valuable fourth wicket partnership of 89 runs with Madushan Dilakshana who contributed 13 runs. With this century Nishan brought his tally to 1387 runs in thirteen matches at an average of 77.1.

Batting first visitors were all out for 134 runs with Eran Hansamal claiming 5 for 35 and in reply Vidyalians declared at 218 for 9 and in their second essay visitors were bowled out for 149 runs with Hansamal Capturing 4 for 67 and set to make 66 runs for an outright victory homesters notched up the required score for the loss of two wickets with Hashen Aditya unbeaten on 35 and Nishan Madushka scoring 29 runs.

Gurukula – 134 in 48.2 overs – (Praveen Nimesh 34, Sithija Chamod 33, Sathisha Ashan 26, Eran Hansamal 5/35, Rashna Kavishka 2/31) and 149 – (Praveen Nimesh 31, Nuwan Chanaka 25, Eran Hansamal 4/67, Rashan Kavishka 2/42).
