Navy nabs five Indian fishermen in Lankan waters

Five Indian fishermen who were in Sri Lankan waters were apprehended by Navy personnel of the North Central Naval Command in the seas North-west of Arippu beacon yesterday. The trawler the Indian fishermen came on was also seized.

The fishermen and the trawler were brought to SLNS Gajaba. After a medical test, they will be handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries in Mannar.

The Navy apprehended 13 Indian fishermen on February 20 as well.
