Case against Vijayakala postponed

The case filed against former State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran over her controversial statements regarding the LTTE was postponed until May 10 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne yesterday.

When the case was taken up before the court, the Organized Crimes Prevention Division informed court that the investigations had been completed and the reports was sent to the Attorney General.

The Division further stated that Attorney General's instructions had not been received yet.

Former State Minister Maheswaran called for the reorganization of the outlawed LTTE to curb the rising crime in the North when she was speaking at an event at the Veerasingham Hall in Jaffna on July 2, 2018.

The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for May 10.
