SLASSCOM to host ‘IT/BPM Exporters Forum’ next week

The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM) is planning to hold the IT/BPM Exporters Forum during February 2019 at Hatch Works, Colombo to create awareness among companies and delegates on how to take business beyond borders.

Titled ‘Economic Diplomacy and getting the best from a Mission’ the event sets a platform for ICT/BPM Exporters to share their past experience and knowledge gained from outward missions, international trade shows and provide a glimpse to the Economic Diplomacy Program under the National Export Strategy.

The forum will offer the perfect blend of exploring and accelerating the avenues to global market reach and acts as a networking opportunity for introductions to potential overseas business alliances, right methods of approaching the global market place and empowering on opportunities available on the Economic Diplomacy Programme.

The key speakers feature Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasinha, Secretary Foreign Affairs including Ravindi Ranaraja, Assistant Director, Export Services Division- Export Development Board (EDB), Jayomi Lokuliyana, Co- Founder and CEO- zMessenger LLC, Anjana Ratnasara, Co- Founder and CEO- i-Context Content Convergence (Pvt) Limited and Sachindra Samararatne, Programme Manager- Information and Communications Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA).

Further, year 2019 kicked off with a workshop on National Export Strategy and Market Access Support Programme held in January at the Institute of Policy Studies spear headed by SLASSCOM along with Export Development Board with the goal of educating the companies and delegates on the strategic objectives of the National Export Strategy and the funding available for individuals who are interested in being a part of outward missions.

The purpose of these events is to provide a complete picture to the IT/BPM exporters of the activities initiated under the National Export Strategy and to accelerate the opportunities to global market reach in order to drive the vision 2022 in generating $5 billion of revenue, 200,000 workforce and 1000 startups.
