Contempt of court action against SLMC fixed for inquiry

The contempt of court application filed against the members of Sri Lanka Medical Council  for their failure to register a student of South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine Limited (SAITM) in Malabe in terms of the Court of Appeal judgment was yesterday fixed for inquiry by Court of Appeal.

The members of SLMC were today appeared before Court of Appeal to show cause as to why they should not be punished for contempt of Court.

When the matter came up before Court of Appeal Justice Deepali Wijesudera and Justice Achala Wengappuli, the matter was fixed for inquiry on March 6.
