Nabbed for uploading offensive FB posts

A 22-year-old youth who allegedly had uploaded offensive Facebook posts about the Pitigala Police and the Police Department was nabbed by the Pitigala Police yesterday.

The suspect Shammi Dushan Chathuranga (22) had reportedly uploaded several the posts using a fake account. He was arrested in Porawagama in the Naaranowita Police division on information received by the Pitigala Police.

The suspect was to be produced before the Magistrate’s Court in Pitigala yesterday.
