Reveal conspirators soon – Deputy Minister

‘An investigation report on the alleged conspiracy to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena should be presented without any delay to reveal the real conspirators to the public,’ Deputy Minister Nalin Bandara said on Tuesday.

“People are curious to know the names of conspirators involved in the alleged assassination plot of the President after Namal Kumara revealed the information with regard to the plot. So, we request the President to present the report soon to take appropriate action against the conspirators,” Development Strategies and International Trade Deputy Minister Nalin Bandara added.

The Deputy Minister responding to a question with regard to the recent revelation made by an Ava group member said that the Ava group was not a terrorist group, but they are a radical youth group who seeks peace and harmony.

Their ideas are necessary for the journey of reconciliation. The government is also working towards creating a conducive environment for them to live together in peace in the North.

‘The Government will not protect anybody found guilty of fraud and corruption,’ he said.

‘Especially the persons found guilty of the bond scam will not be protected. We have never interfered with the Judiciary and the Attorney General’s Department when investigations on the bond scam were going on.

Even though the Opposition alleged the government was against investigating the bond scam, no one talks about Arjun Aloysius’ participation at the wedding of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Rohitha Rajapaksa.
