Two suspects who transported heroin in a luxurious car, were taken in to the police custody according to a special raid which conducted by the Katunayake police officers yesterday evening.
According to the police media, the two suspects were arrested by police on a tip off which received by them from a police decoy while the suspects were travelling in a car at very high speed on the Negombo-Katunayake main road near to the airport.
However 100 grams of heroin which was hidden in the boot of the car ,was also taken under the police custody.
The two suspects were identified by police as "Tennakoone Arachchige Ajith" alias "Lonsina" 38-year-old ,a permanent resident of No:40, Katiyala, Negombo.
The second suspect identified as " Senadeera Pathirannahalage Sanjaya Pradeep Senadeera" alias "Karadaraya" , a resident of No:101/B/ 01, Yatiyana, Minuwangoda.
Both suspects were to be produced before the Magistrate Courts in Negombo today.
Further more police investigations are being conducted.
